SHAMANIC STAY![]() Some treat people with "Ayahuasca" (forest liana vine), which they call "Ayahuasquerros" while those who treat people with "Toé" are called "Toeteros". It isn't easy to become a shaman because you need to be a man with a powerful spirit and be able to endure strict diets while you are an apprentice. The first test he has to take to become a shaman is to isolate himself for one month in the forest, feeding himself on the fruits and roots produced by Mother Nature. Then the apprentice goes home and is subject to a very strict diet. (No salt, no hot dishes, no fish, no garlic and no alcoholic drinks for fifteen days). After completing this diet he will go back into the forest for three months, then for six months and finally for one year. During this entire period the apprentice lives a life with a restrictive diet and sexual abstinence. The next test he must pass is sitting on a chair to check that he doesn't loose his balance. If he falls then he didn't carry out his apprenticeship corrently and cannot become a shaman. If he succeeds then he will receive the title of doctor and wear a white garment. He will then be able to treat many diseases such as those caused by water, depression, anxiety, epilepsy, arthritis and certain cancers. The patient is monitored for one, two or three weeks and is put on a strict diet.
After taking the Ayahuasca, the shaman will sing in the "Quechua" or "Aymara" dialect which will let him communicate with the plant. The trance will last at least two hours depending on the metal and spiritual state of the patient. The"Arcaneada" is the shaman's ability to be able to visualize the evil, infirmity or spell on the patient during the trance. At this instant the shaman will locate the problem and inhale it to free the patient. The trance-state will give you the power to see your past, present and future. However only the shaman can see what is wrong with his patient. Special shamanism tour package: Shamanic stay SHAM - 05.
